Described as “a series of monologues meant to showcase the wide range of experiences than can stem from being a woman or simply having a vagina (as these two concepts are not always related),” the show tackles themes of sexual freedom, body positivity, rape culture, self-acceptance, and other right-now issues. This animated short written and directed by FAMU student Daria Kashcheeva was nominated for an Oscar for best animated short. Though it didn’t take home the statuette it’s still worth catching this tale of a daughter recalling a difficult childhood moment when she shared her experience with an injured bird with her Father.
