At the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Barbeque Invitational this past weekend, teams from across the globe gathered in Lynchburg, Tennessee to compete for BBQ bragging rights.
While most of the competing BBQers came from the states, 22 teams from countries such as Australia, Canada, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Ireland, Italy, Austria, and Sweden also vied for the top prize.
And one from the Czech Republic: Sticky D’s BBQ, a BBQ food stand and competition team from Lexington, Kentucky, and now based in Prague.
While the Grand Prize at the Tennessee BBQ championships was won by an American team – Cool Smoke from Richmond, Virginia – the Czech team didn’t go home empty handed.
Sticky D’s was named top European team and won the #1 international prize for their pulled pork, the team announced in a Facebook post:
