Prague’s New Generation of Sushi Bars and Japanese Cuisine

Just in time for the Hajao Mijazaki retrospective opening today, these newish sushi restaurants are date-night approved

A couple years ago, we put out our Best Sushi In Prague Poll which named the top sushi restaurants in Prague as rated by Expats.cz users. See the winning sushi restaurants here

We know from the response to that poll (over 600 votes) just how passionate expats and Czechs alike are about their sushi.

Ever since then, the Japanese culinary scene in Prague is on a major roll, with the obsession for cuisine from the land of the rising sun extending to a pop-up devoted to wagashi, the art of Japanese sweets, and a café specializing in Japanese-style coffee (see below).

Find our previous coverage on Prague’s sushi houses here. Below, a quick run-down of some of the new generation of sushi bars in Prague—just in time for the opening tomorrow of a Bio Oko retrospective of director Hajao Mijazaki, spanning seven of his most celebrated films including Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.
