Paris has its Moulin Rouge Prague is now getting a cabaret of its own with the Czech Cabaret Show. This bombastic new performance will introduce audiences to the Czech musical and dance scene featuring top acrobats and performers from all over the Czech Republic and abroad.
Pre-Christmas Concert: Free Balkan Quintet

Jazz, rhythm, and dance sounds of this Balkan group are sure to liven up the pre-holiday season. Violin, guitar, banjo, double bass, accordion, and drums keep the beat while special guest, Žofie Kašparová will perform.
Two Centuries of Czech Portrait Painting
December 18, Prague Castle Imperial Stables
May 2020 commemorates what would have been the 200th birthday of Josef Mánes, the godfather of Czech modern portraiture. The exhibit include the work of Mánes‘ followers among them Jindřich Štýrský, Toyen, and Adolf Hoffmeister. Selected artworks created in the 1940s and 1960s and contemporary portraits will also be displayed.
December 18, Campus Hybernská
A celebration to mark the International Day of Migrants will showcase the creativity of migrants living in the Czech Republic, including photographers, designers, and performers. A documentary film about expat life will be screened and followed with a discussion. Afterparty hosted by DJ KINØL.
Christmas Market at Vzletná
This performance venue and creative workshop space in Prague 7 is hosting a Christmas market for last-minute shoppers who seek books, posters, jewelry, teas, upcycled backpacks, homemade mead, scented candles, and other small items from local Czech producers.
Prague Youth Film Festival
December 20-22, Multiple venues
The Prague Youth Film Festival 2019 will screen film at the American Center, Kino Dlabačov, NoD, and Chapeau Rouge. Twenty-five films from 17 countries encompass narrative and documentary features, short narrative films, first-time features, and documentary shorts from filmmakers as young as 15 through age 35.
December 20, Jára Cimrman Theatre
Last chance this year to catch the newest translation from the Cimrman English Theatre of the first play in the Cimrman canon. The Act, is a farcical take on traditional family dramas between a painter, his muse, and their three adult children (a teacher, a travelling salesman and a sexologist).
Czech Christmas Brunch
December 21, Buddha-Bar
The Buddha-Bar is an unlikely place for indulging in traditional Czech cuisine. But this year the Prague Asian-fusion favorite will serve a special brunch with a Czech Christmas menu of schnitzel, potato salad, and more.
Christmas show at Kasárna Karlín
This former military barracks transformed into a culture space will host a traditional Czech “Vánoční besídka” with a rock twist, featuring a line up of indie-rock bands including the appropriately named Cold Cold Nights. A roaring fire and mulled wine in the courtyard will warm up the party.
More than 60 Czech and Slovak artists and designers of fashion, jewelery, and more will set up shop at the Prague Market in Halls 11 and 17 alongside some of the city’s tastiest food trucks. An accompanying program and workshops also on the festive schedule.
