Police in Kladno, in the Central Bohemian region of the Czech Republic, responded to an unusual call yesterday morning after a goat and dog were reported to be standing in front of an apartment building on Jerevanská Street, writes Kladenský deník.
The goat, named Hurvínek, and the dog, a German shepherd named Zak, had apparently traveled into the city together from a nearby village without the knowledge of their owner.
The pair caused a minor stir on social media, after their journey was filmed and posted to Facebook by local residents.
Local police were soon on the scene after the couple reportedly “demanded” access to an apartment building.
“Everything was monitored by the operator of the camera system, and a patrol with a technical vehicle went to the location,” Kladno Police spokesperson Alena Purkytová told Kladenský deník.
“Both animal friends were loaded and taken away by the guards. The dog was housed in a capture pen and the goat was transported to the AVES rescue station.”
Shortly after being apprehended, Hurvínek and Zak’s concerned owner called in to report them missing.
“Moments later, a man called Line 156 to report that both animals had disappeared from a garden in nearby Hřebeč. The police officers handed over both refugees to their owner in order.”
