Animefest.cz: The oldest and largest anime & manga convention in the Czech Republic, organized by non-profit organization Brno otaku.

May 27 – June 3
Zlín Film Festival: Take a trip out of Prague to enjoy the Zlín Film Festival, one of the largest and oldest festivals of its kind in the world!


May 1-20
Asparagusfest: A heavenly concept for lovers of the green vegetable! Special meal-deal prices for visitors. Check website for details.

May 17-June 2
Czech Beer Festival Prague 2012: Holešovice’s exhibition hall hosts this year’s beer fest! The event will be running throughout the second half of May.

Prague Marathon Weekend: Volkswagen proudly presents the 2012 marathon! Over 8000 runners took part in last year’s event, so why not raise the numbers and join the ranks for this year’s event? A Sport Expo is run concurrently with the Marathon, at the Holešovice Expo Grounds May 10-15.


May 9-10
Unseen: A new collective work from Czech choreographer Věra Ondrašíková, singer and actress Johana Švarcová, and computer programmers Michal Rydlo and Michal Cáb at NoD.

Blood Red Riding Hood: Studio Alta hosts the Bethany Adams-directed play starring Hannah Lee, Beathe Linde, and Christy Hawkins.

The Untouchables (Spitfire Company): Nominated for the Best Performance Award by Czech Dance Platform 2012, The Untouchables is a journey into the subconscious at NoD.

Solo For Lu: The real-life story of Chinese actress, singer, and dancer Jing Lu is  performed at Divadlo Archa.

May 23
The Road: A new play based on by Federico Fellini’s La Strada will be performed at NoD. Directed by Adam Halaš.


May 21-27
reSITE Festival: this conference, which will explore collaborative ideas for the development of public spaces that have real economic, social, and ecological value, promises to bridge the gap between designers, private developers, policy makers and the public. At the National Gallery’s Veletržní palace.
