What’s On in September

Enjoy the last of the summer vibes in the city! September sees lots of activites for all ages and interests!

Music

6 – Bassnectar: Fource Entertainment will bring one of the best names in dubstep! Bassnectar blesses Prague’s Roxy for a wobble-filled DJ set.

8-22: Dvořák International Music Festival: A series of events taking place in various locations. Fantastic classical music from around the world.

9- KMFDM: The band considered to be one of the first to introduce industrial music to mainstream audiences comes to Lucerna Music Bar.

10- Japandroids: Expect an upbeat and energetic live performance from the Canadian rock duo!

13- Ill Divo & Live Orchestra: Adonis-esque opera demi-gods drop in on Prague for an evening of exquisite music.

16- Coldplay: Multiple Grammy Award-winners play Prague. Chris Martin and his band will be performing at the Synot Tip Arena. Not to be missed!

Art

1-30 – Europa Jagellonica: Art and culture in Central Europe during the Jagiellonian reign.

1-16 Exhibition Mosaics and Batiks: An exhibition of Mosaics and Batiks, from the very interesting Edith Chapat de Cacho Sousa, all the way from Venezuela.

Until 17- Transgender Me Exhibition: An exhibition dealing with the term ‘transgender’ as an open category. Comprising the work of individuals who have undergone (or are going to undergo) a sex change surgery.

Until 31 Dec (Except Mondays) – National Technical Museum: currently offering five permanent exhibitions on Architecture, Building Engineering and Design, Astronomy, Transportation, Photo Studio and Printing.

Until 21 Oct (Except Mondays) – Jakub Schikaneder: A major exhibition covering the life and works of Czech artist Jakub Schikaneder.

Food & Drink

3-16 – ALAKARTE – Restaurants for Kids: Chefs from selected restaurants prepare traditional kids’ meals from 90 CZK!

7-9 – Burčák/Wine Festival: One of the many Burčák fests taking place in the Czech Republic. Join the people of Mikulov for some young wine!

8 – Refufest: A Multicultural festival taking place for the fourth time in Rakovice (Southern Bohemia).

3-31 Oct. Strings of Autumn: A musical crossroads where genre meets genre, and tradition meets experiment.

15 – Ladronka Fest: Calling all adrenalin junkies! Ladronka Fest presents a mix of culture, music, art and entertainment. Get involved!

22- Zažít Město Jinak: Imagine a city in which public space belongs to the people. A city in which sidewalks are full of people and not parked cars. Take part in a day of activities set up by local initiatives and businesses!

Sports

Until 15 – Czech Republic Speedway Grand Prix: The Speedway find itself in a new location, moving from its Strahov roots. The 41 year-old competition still brings plenty of energy!
