This Saturday, Take a Ride on Prague’s Mikuláš Metro & Tram

DPP is offering a special program this weekend where public transport riders and their children can take part in the Czech Christmas tradition

It’s a Czech Christmastime tradition: the days of Svatý Mikuláš (St. Nicholas), when a Czech take on Santa Claus evaluates the good and bad children in advance of the Christmas holidays (read more about the Mikuláš tradition here).

While Mikuláš – along with an accompanying Angel and Devil – typically roam the streets on the eve of St. Mikuláš Day (which falls on December 6), celebrations are generally held from December 2-6.

And on this Saturday, December 3, you and your children can visit the trio on one of Prague’s standby institutions: a special Mikuláš-themed metro and tram ride that will roam the city from 13:00 to 18:00.

Leaving in half-hour intervals along Prague’s Green A line, the Mikuláš metro will be a historic Soviet-era Ečs metro carriage where riders will be greeted by a Devil and an Angel.

At the stop Hradčanská, you can disembark to catch the Mikuláš tram, which brings riders to DPP’s Střešovice Depot and Museum of Public Transport for a continuation of the Mikuláš-themed activities that includes a program of events and games for children.

More information (in Czech) can be found on DPP’s official website
