Despite 20-year unemployment lows and a record number of vacancies on the Czech job market, 24% of employees in the Czech Republic are worried about losing their job, according to a new Workmonitor study by global consulting film Randstad.
A total of 6% of employees said that it was “very likely” they would lose their job.
“While companies are still intensely recruiting, some stagnation is already beginning to appear,” Randstad’s Alžběta Honsová said in a press release.
“With automation, companies are also starting to look for different kinds of workers than before, so people in certain positions may be in danger of losing their jobs.”

In the past six months, 20% of employees in the Czech Republic have changed jobs.
Another 20% are currently looking for a new job. But that’s expected to increase going in the early months of 2019.
“We expect greater activity on the labor market in the middle of the first quarter,” said Honsová.
“Now, people are slowly moving into the Christmas mood, and typically do not search for a new job.”
Young people are the most likely to change jobs. Among employees in the 18-24 age range, 30% have changed jobs in the past half year; among 25-34 year-olds, it was even higher at 31%.
Around 40% of employees changed jobs in search of better working conditions; about 25% said that they were unhappy with their employer.
