What’s it Like to Work for Johnson & Johnson in Prague?

American multinational manufacturing company Johnson & Johnson is probably best known to the public for its baby products and cosmetics – Listerine, Nicorette, Olynth, and Johnson’s Baby are just some of the products that have made the company a household name since its founding in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1886.

But moisturizing skin and freshening breath represents just a small fraction of the company’s activities which encompass the development of medicines and vaccines and a broad range of innovative products used by healthcare professionals.

By addressing some of the world’s most pressing healthcare issues, Johnson & Johnson’s products affect the lives of more than one billion people around the world.

Johnson & Johnson Global Services supports the commercial businesses of Johnson & Johnson, performing selected tasks across regions and sectors using standardized end-to-end processes and state-of-the-art technology.

Its global support arm is comprised of more than 4,000 employees in Human Resources, Finance, and Procurement who work in key service centers located in Manila, Suzhou, Bogota, Tampa, and right here in Prague.

The company’s Jinonice-based office employs more than 40 nationalities speaking more than 33 different languages – a truly international environment.

“We think that all Johnson & Johnson employees globally are united in a common mission: To help people everywhere live longer, healthier, happier lives,” says Jana Houhová, Talent Acquisition Partner.

So what’s it like to work for a healthcare industry leader?

Petra Krupičková, Procurement Continuous Improvement Architect, who has been with the company since 2016 agrees:

“My family and I live quite far from Prague, so I spend a fair amount of time commuting to work. Thanks to the supportive approach of J&J I can work from home for part of the week and spend this way more valuable time with my family, a benefit I appreciate very much. Another reason why I enjoy working for Johnson & Johnson is the fitness facility we have available in the building, as I can regularly attend yoga classes that are organized there.”

This devotion to empowering employees extends to resources, training and support, and encouraging professional development. These are just some of the factors that draw international applicants from a diverse range of skills and backgrounds.

Martina Mašková, Divestiture and Acquisition Team Lead, says the company’s global appeal is something that is also attractive to potential employees:

“When I found out that J&J operate globally, I decided to accept the offer. I started working here in 2009 and now I know it was the right decision to make.”

While English is the main language of internal communication at Johnson & Johnson, the company is currently looking for employees who can communicate in Dutch, French, German, and Finnish to fill positions in everything from customer service to payroll.

“We are looking for talented people who share our vision for caring for the world, one person at a time, to join our team,” says Mrs. Horka Průšová.
