Restaurant Known for Its Oligarch Burger Opening Wenceslas Square Location

George Prime Steak opened to acclaim in 2013, being hailed as the first American-style steakhouse in Prague serving USDA Prime cuts; it is part of the Emblem Hotel on Platnéřská street.

As of last week the GPS Facebook page was seeking new recruits for their in-the-works burger bistro in Prague 1 which will opens its doors between mid-June to early July.

The GPS burger, available only on the bar menu at the original restaurant, ranked high on Brewsta’s 2016 review of Prague burgers; the queues at their tent during Prague’s annual Burgerfest and other pop-up events around town prove that it indeed has its admirers.

The new location is on Vodičkova 32 in the building that formerly housed the Boorgies restaurant chain.

No word if the Oligarch Burger (999 CZK), a grilled ground beef patty from USDA Prime, topped with foie gras, truffle aioli, Brillat Savarin cheese, and slices of 24-carat gold will be included on the menu.

For those with a less beefy bank account, their sliders sets (2 for 315 CZK) are the more affordable, though no less tasty, option while the GPS burger currently runs around 395 CZK.

The other GPS bar menu offerings, truffle mac & cheese, and poutine, seem like ideal bistro fare.

The restaurant is named for George Betak, a Swiss-trained chef and entrepreneur.
