Czech Artists Re-Invent the Coca-Cola Bottle

Czech Artists Re-Invent the Coca-Cola Bottle

The iconic Coca-Cola bottle, immortalized by American artists Andy Warhol and Normal Rockwell among others, is getting a makeover, Czech style.

In early 2015, the soft-drinks giant launched a global campaign inviting artists worldwide to reinterpret their signature bottle in honor of its 100th anniversary.

The most inventive Czech entries are now on display in Prague, reports Lidovky.cz.

Thirty Czech designers submitted 57 pieces of art work, among them photos, graphics, paintings, even clothes and an original bottle opener.

Jurors from the Design Academy of Art (VŠUP) and Coca-Cola Czech Republic chose the top entries including the winner, a comics-edition bottle by designer Barbora Balgová, and a runner-up set of Coke-inspired goblets by artist Lukáš Houdek.
