Ivana Trump: US Ambassador to Czech Republic?

In an interview with the NY Post, the former Mrs. Trump suggested herself as an obvious choice for envoy to her homeland

In a Friday interview with the New York Post, Ivana Trump, ex-wife of President elect Donald J. Trump, put herself forward as a possible candidate for US Ambassador to the Czech Republic.

The 67-year-old Zlín native told the publication: “That is where I’m from and my language and everybody knows me. I’m quite well known all around the world…I’m known by the name Ivana. I really do not need the name Trump.”

The socialite offered up opinions on everything from her ex-husband’s future cabinet members to his wall-building immigration policy:

“We need the immigrants. But what is wrong is when an 18-year-old Mexican girl goes over the wall — which is the height of my chair, four feet — she gives birth in the American hospital, her child becomes automatically American. Who is paying for the birth, and who is paying for her food and upkeep? Us taxpayers. And that needs to stop.”

Ivana Marie Zelníčková left the Czech Republic when it was still Czechoslovakia; in a humorous aside, the publication wonders whether she has adopted its “punchier new name, Czechia.”
