Lidl Has Finally Unveiled Its E-Shop for the General Public

A test phase saw an employees-only version; now everyone can shop for deep discounts online

Discount grocery chain Lidl announced that it would be opening an e-shop back in July; earlier this month it launched a test version of the service for employees only. Now everyone can do their Lidl shopping online.

While groceries are currently not a part of the Internet offer, consumer goods such as clothing, home electronics, garden items, and toys are being offered with a three-day-delivery guarantee.

A spokesperson for the chain said that similar to the stone shops, new goods, based on theme or season, will appear twice weekly on the e-shop.

Online customers will be able to order a week before items appear in stores. Remainders from previous promotions will also be available for purchase online.

Shipping price starts at 59 CZK; orders over 1,000 CZK qualify for free delivery.

The Czech Republic is the fourth country where Lidl has opened an e-shop. All orders are filled from a logistics center in Pilsen.
