Prague, April 3 (CTK) – The number of new daily COVID-19 cases has slowed down to 269, having reached 3,869 on Thursday, according to data the Health Ministry released today.
Most of the cases are in Prague and the Olomouc Region.
The number of Czech COVID-19 patients who have recovered rose by four to 71 and the number of deaths among COVID-19 patients increased by 2 to 46 as against Thursday evening, according to Health Ministry data.
Both persons were over 60, one from Prague and one from the Plzen Region. One died on Thursday and one today.
The daily number of new, confirmed cases already fell on Wednesday to 281 from 307 on Tuesday.
However, the number of tests also fell from 6,206 on Tuesday to 5,973 on Wednesday. The number of conducted tests rose to 6,291 on Thursday, which was a record daily increase.
The highest incidence of the COVID-19 is still in Prague, with almost 76 cases per 100,000 population, followed by the Olomouc Region with 56.
The biggest proportion of the confirmed coronavirus infection, about one-fifth, is made up of people in the age group of 45-54 years. A similar proportion is in the age group 35-44. Children under 14 only account for about 5 percent of the cases.
Today, some new cases have been reported, too. At 08:30, there were 3,869 of them. A total of 67,281 coronavirus tests were conducted by this morning.
On Thursday, there were 359 coronavirus patients in hospitals. Of them, 77 were in a serious condition. The number rose by 17 compared with Wednesday.
Over one-fourth of those infected and hospitalised have recovered or have been released to home quarantine.
