“I had a carriage…on my side, an elderly gentleman was sitting next to me, and my daughter was sitting on my lap while breastfeeding and [her] head was basically covering my breast, the other one was logically cloaked.”

After she argued that she was only a breastfeeding mom, not an exhibitionist, the bank’s guard threatened to escort the woman from the premises if she didn’t leave the bank.

“Everybody was watching…so I packed up my pram quickly and fed her on Jungmann Square,” the woman says.

After returning to the bank to complete her transaction, the woman confronted the guard, informing him that this his actions had humiliated her. She says the guard stood by his behavior, claiming that the woman was making the bank’s other customers uncomfortable.

The bank has publicly apologized for the incident. But according to Aktualne.cz, a Raiffeisenbank spokeswoman maintains that the security guard did not ask the client to leave the branch, only to cover up.

“However, he could and should have been better…to a breastfeeding woman. We have already cited him for his behavior in a personal letter,” the spokesperson told the publication.

As the story was shared across social media, many commenters were shocked by the bank’s weak stance and called on the company to take further action against its employee.
